Milano Design Week 2026: Abet Laminati presents Venezia

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, Abet Laminati presented Venezia, the new collection designed by Giulio Cappellini, at the SuperCity – Superstudio MAXI space.

Produced using digital printing, the collection took centre stage through a series of installations that highlighted its versatility and its ability to engage with a variety of contexts.

Throughout the week, Abet laminate was featured both at the Salone del Mobile and across the Fuorisalone, through installations, displays and collaborations spread throughout the city, reaffirming the material’s central role in contemporary design and culture.

Abet Laminati also placed a strong focus on younger generations, hosting a workshop in collaboration with IAAD and the DesignMind talk, featuring Lorenzo Palmieri alongside design curators Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni.

Surfaces emerge as a key expressive element, capable of defining space through texture, depth, and finishes. In this context, laminate expands its role thanks to its potential for customisation and its application flexibility.

From the architectural scale of installations to material details, several design trends come into focus: metallic surfaces with a refined and elegant character, references to stone, and digitally printed solutions. Laminate thus confirms its versatility and expressive potential, reinforcing its role as a contemporary material for architecture and interior design.

Venezia Collection by Giulio Cappellini

Inspired by the traditional terrazzo floors of the lagoon city, Venezia reinterprets the language of an iconic and historic pattern, refined and made contemporary through a collection that combines compositional balance with a sophisticated exploration of colour.

The collection is designed by Giulio Cappellini, a leading figure in Italian design, who revisits the Venetian terrazzo through a language where fragment, colour and composition are carefully brought together. The elements, only seemingly arranged at random, reveal a precise structure that shifts depending on scale and point of view.

The pattern is developed in three scales — Piccola Venezia, Venezia and Grande Venezia — to meet different design needs, from architecture to furniture, with surfaces suitable for both horizontal and vertical applications.
