Based on the owner’s desire for a hospitality experience for their clients, the modest studio is organized to hold four tattoo stations with utility elements condensed into a single form. VIRALINE Architecture created a grand feeling within the small footprint by capitalizing on the existing brick walls, high ceilings, and large glass openings showcasing Soho’s historic architecture. The dark grey palette creates the desired mood, and the burgundy utility pod reads like an object sitting in the space rather than a collection of mundane elements. The metallic epoxy floor, while satisfying hygiene requirements, was a collaboration with the owner/artist. For the custom millwork VIRALINE chose our Grigio Tempesta and Chocolat HPL in the Lucida finish to compliment the selected wall colors and juxtapose their flat finish. The reflective quality and inherent depth of the Lucida finish changes the feel of the studio throughout the day.
